HealthDecoded is dedicated to providing medical information in simple, easy-to-understand terms at a 6th-8th grade reading level, empowering patients to clearly grasp their health conditions. Our strength lies in our clarity, making complex medical concepts accessible and comprehensible for everyone. Our team is composed of knowledgeable medical and graduate students who bring both expertise and a passion for education. Together, we aim to make a meaningful difference by helping individuals make informed decisions about their health.

Founder

Lauren Calicchia is a medical student at the University of Toronto. She is a researcher who is dedicated to improving health literacy, leading the initiative to create accessible explanations of medical conditions. Her work centres on bridging the gap between clinical knowledge and patient understanding, ensuring individuals have the clarity they need to make informed decisions about their care.
